Resurrection Weigh-in Results -

Caged Minds was live on the scene at the weigh-ins for Legacy Boxing Promotions “The Resurrection” at Embassy Suites.

The Embassy suites will also be the host venue for tomorrow night’s fights.

Less than a year after a near fatal drowning Abraham “The Hammer” Perez will be back under the bright lights in a main event against short notice opponent Jose Rodriguez. Jose Rodriguez is in replacing Alejandro Murillo. Rodriguez was one of four fighters to miss weight coming in three pounds heavy.

In the co-main event “The Atrisco Kid” Fidel Maldonado Jr. returns from five-years away to face the ridiculously experienced German Gutierrez. And Unbeaten Andres Rey takes on Ernesto Hernandez who had three times the pro experience.

The card did shrink after the weigh-in’s with three fights dropping off. Jordanne Garcia came in heavy leading to the cancellation of her fight with Olivia Curry. And Gabriel Gutierrez did the same for his fights with Xavier Madrid. The fight was originally contracted at 145 lbs. before getting adjusted to 154 lbs. Gutierrez missing weight even after the increasing the weight limit.

Austin Lewis also missed weight by 4 lbs. Lewis didn’t return to the scale for a second attempt and wasn’t present for the ceremonial weigh-in. Sources have told us Lewis will not be medically fit to compete.

The card is expected to proceed as scheduled. Embassy Suite doors open at 5 p.m. and the first bell is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. local time.

In an update negotiations are ongoing that Jordanne Garcia vs. Olivia Curry could still happen. The bout was ultimately not approved by the New Mexico Athletic Commission.
