Two Bantamweight Title Fights Announced for UFC 316

The UFC will be returning to the Garden State in June with two title fights at the same weight.

UFC 316 is set for June 7th at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

In the main event Merab “The Machine” Dvalishvili defends his UFC Bantamweight Championship against the man he took the title from, “Suga” Sean O’Malley.

Dvalishvili dethroned O’Malley by decision at UFC 306 last September in a primarily one sided contest. Four months after winning the crown Dvalishvili was back in the octagon against unbeaten Umar Nurmagomedov. “The Machine” posted his first successful defense out working and overwhelming Nurmagomedov for five rounds at UFC 311.

O’Malley who had one title defense on his resume before losing the belt went into UFC 306 with a shoulder injury and has been on the mend since.

Julianna “The Venezuela vixen” Pena will make the first defense of her second reign as UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion when she puts the title on the line against two-time Judo Olympic gold medalist, Kayla Harrison.

Pena regained the title at UFC 307, defeating Raquel Pennington by split decision. Harrison is 2-0 in the UFC having submitted Holly Holm and beating Ketlen Vieira on the scorecards.
