Title Fight added to BKFC Hollywood
An interim BKFC Flyweight title will be on the line at BKFC Fight Night Hollywood.
The BKFC Flyweight championship hasn’t been in the line since BKFC 59. Last March when champion John Dodson & Dagoberto Aguero fought to a draw.
Four months after the draw Dodson played the role of BKFC global ambassador beating Takaki Soya by unanimous decision at Super Rizin 3 in a bare knuckle bout. The same event where Tai Emery scored a win over Charisa Sigala that earned her a shot a BKFC Strawweight Champion Britain Hart. This past weekend “The Magician” was back in Japan facing Takaki Spy in a mma bout that saw Soya get his hand raised from a controversial decision.
July 12th at the Seminole Hard Rock number three ranked contender Andrew Strode will face Gee “The Cutman” Perez for an interim Flyweight title.
Colorado’s Strode is 3-0 in BKFC. At BKFC 50 Strode made his debut in front of his hometown stopping Cary Carpio in the second round. Strode has made a very compelling case for a title shot in his last two fights defeating ranked opposition. He stopped Chauncey Wilson in the third at BKFC 69 & followed it up with a decision over Tyler Randall.
The nickname isn’t just “The Cutman” Gee Perez is a BKFC cutman along with playing other roles in the company. “Perez” is most well known for facing Influencer Bryce Hall at BKFC 48. Since the high profile bout Perez has won two fights over Brendan Kelly & Albert Inclan. It has to pointed out that while Perez is a very talented fighter he yet to have a fight where he’s weighed in under 127 lbs. and for Flyweight title you have to make 125 lbs.
