BKFC Fight Night Australia Delivers Eight Straight Stoppages in Brisbane
BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA — Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship made its return to Australia on Saturday night, and the action inside the sold-out Eatons Hill Hotel lived up to the reputation of the sport.
BKFC Fight Night Australia produced eight consecutive stoppages, with every bout ending before the final bell and the night’s biggest stars making their presence felt in the BKFC Squared Circle.
The event was streamed globally through the BKFC App.
Kuhne Blasts His Way to 2-0
Gold Coast’s Josh “Kamikaze” Kuhne delivered the night’s most emphatic performance, stopping Adelaide’s “Fighting Irish” Shaun Curran in just 58 seconds of the main event.
Kuhne dropped Curran three times before the referee called a halt to the welterweight contest.
The victory moves Kuhne to 2-0 under the BKFC banner, with both wins coming by stoppage. Curran was making his promotional debut.
Following the win, Kuhne made it clear he has bigger plans, calling for a spot on the BKFSea Bruise Cruise 2027, scheduled for January 22-25.
Flanagan Scores Heavyweight Statement
Brisbane heavyweight Mark “Bam Bam” Flanagan picked up his first BKFC victory in the co-main event, stopping Kaylib Heke in the second round.
Flanagan, a former professional boxer who previously challenged for a WBA title, now owns a 1-1 record in bare-knuckle competition.
Heke accepted the bout on short notice and was making his BKFC debut after traveling from Auckland, New Zealand.
Flanagan’s victory could not have come at a better time, as the heavyweight immediately put himself forward for consideration for BKFC’s upcoming World’s Baddest Man Tournament.
Joma Impresses in BKFC Debut
Sudanese-born Victoria fighter Santo “King Cowboy” Joma made an impressive first appearance in the promotion, stopping Brisbane’s Viktor “The Impaler” Lyall at 1:26 of the second round.
The middleweight matchup marked the BKFC debuts of both fighters, but it was Joma who established himself and secured the victory.
Whitehead Survives to Stop Winnett
Gold Coast’s Mick “Warhorse” Whitehead earned his first BKFC win by stopping Brisbane’s Ryan Winnett in the fourth round of their lightweight battle.
The stoppage came at the 50-second mark of the fourth round, moving both fighters to 1-1 under the BKFC banner in the process of their respective careers.
Loga Makes Explosive Debut
Brisbane’s Mario “Hand Grenade” Loga lived up to his nickname in spectacular fashion.
The Sudanese-born fighter dropped Honolulu’s Alvin “Aychpapi” Kanehailua three times before the middleweight bout was stopped just 47 seconds into the opening round.
It was an explosive introduction to BKFC for Loga, while Kanehailua falls to 0-2.
Ioane Stays Unbeaten
Hunter “Coca Samoa” Ioane remained perfect at 2-0 by stopping Adelaide’s Luke “Bam Bam” Bampton with just one second remaining in the opening round.
The Logan, Australia fighter continued his unbeaten start with another stoppage, while Bampton dropped to 0-2 in BKFC.

Both heavyweights were making their first appearances inside the BKFC Squared Circle.
