
“Hammer” Perez & Maldonado Jr. Returns top The Resurrection
Saturday night the appropriately named Resurrection takes place with a comeback story for the ages unfolding.
Eight days before Abraham Perez was going to face Matthew Greigo at Tingley Coliseum he nearly drowned. According to the story from Rick Wright of the Albuquerque Journal. Eight days after losing consciousness, Pere was back in the gym and even pulled himself into the ring. The recovery has been so miraculous that “Hammer” has been cleared to fight since a bout fizzled out in January.
When Perez returns to the ring hell do so against 16-fight vet Jose Rodriguez a Mexican fighting out of Wisconsin. Rodriguez is a big puncher with 86% of his wins by knockout. Perez’s has half of his wins by knockout. “Hammer” has been steadily climbing the ranks in recent years winning IBA & WBC titles over his last four fights.

After five-years away “The Atrisco Kid” Fidel Maldonado Jr. returns to the ring to faces 140-fight vet German Meraz from Mexico. Maldonado Jr. has 20 of his 27 wins by knockout.

Power & Glory brawler Jordanne “OMG” Garcia meets Olivia Curry in a showdown between top ten ranked Women’s Middleweights. Unbeaten Andre Rey looks to continue his winning ways when he faces 17-fight vet Texan Ernesto Hernandez. In an all–New Mexico dual Eduardo Pinon makes his pro debut against BKFC vet Austin Lewis. And Kirtland’s Elija “Blue” Martinez is set to open the card against El Paso’s Gabriel Martinez.
