XFC Featherweight Tournament
XFC has announced a plan to crown the promotions inaugural Featherweight champion with a 4-man tournament, with one spot in the championship fight on the line at XFC 25 and one at XFC 26.
At XFC 25: Boiling Points Stephan “Bigfish” Bass (10-1) vs. Farkhad Sharipov (13-5). Bass who was a cast member of TUF season 14, who has not fought since losing to Marcus Brimage at the TUF 14 Finale. Bass is a grappler who has 5 of 6 stoppage wins by submission. Sharipov will be looking to end a 2 fight losing skid in which “Frank” has dropped decisions to Jessie Rigleman and Fabio Mello; following a 6 fight win streak. Sharipov is a Gracie Barra Orlando repersenitive with the majority of his wins by decision.
At XFC 26 on October 18, Jason “The Ronin” Hicks (5-1) will face Deivison Ribeiro (23-9). Hicks will be dropping to Featherweight after a unanimous decision loss to Scott Holtzman in a Lightweight title eliminator bout. Ribeiro who debut in the United States on the heels of a 7-1 stint, lost his first two bouts to Dakota Cochrane (TKO) and Zach Underwood (UD) at Lightweight. Now at Featherweight Ribeiro is coming off a unanimous decision win over Shah Bobonis at XFC 24.
