Warren vs. Kirk Headlines Bellator 101, Bumps Kongo vs. Godbeer to Bellator 102
Joe Warren (8-3) vs. Nick Kirk (10-2) in a Bantamweight semifinal had been expected to headline Bellator 98, but that didn’t happen as Warren was not medically cleared to fight. Warren has now received medical clearance and Bellator has wasted no time rescheduling the fight for the main event slot of this weeks Bellator 101.
Bellator 101 takes place on September 27th, at The Moda Center at Rose Quarter in Portland, Oregon. The winner of Warren vs. Kirk will face Travis “T-Train” Marx in the season 9 tournament finals Bantamweight tournament finals. Marx defeated Brandon Bender at Bellator 100 by 2nd round TKO.
The originally announced Heavyweight semifinal main event of Cheick Kongo vs. Mark Godbeer has been moved to next weeks Bellator 102, on October 4, at the Visalia Convention Center in Visalia, California.
