Event Alert: King of the Cage- “Rumble”
The first MMA event of 2014 taking place in New Mexico will at the Crowne Plaza, on February 8th, as King of the Cage presents “Rumble”.
A theme of the night will be taking the next step as several highly skilled and well respected amateurs next the next step in their careers making their pro debuts. KOTC has thus far announced 2 bouts in this theme with Judgement MMA’s John Rozema meeting Victor Orquiz of Las Cruces, NM and Rosales Kickboxing’s Dorian Dixion squares off with Santa Fe Brazilian Jiu Jitsu representative Aaron Pearls.
Rozema ended his amateur career with a (3-1) record, most recently defeating Michael Aguilar by by Kockout in under a minute.
Orquiz will be making his pro debut after having suffered consecutive 2nd round submission losses.
Pearl as an amateur went 4-0 including a first round submission victory by triangle choke at King of the Cage “Eats vs. West”.
Dixon who is an amateur kickboxing champion fought at least 7 time as an amateur ended that part of his career on a 3 fight winning streak with a submission and a pair of decision wins.
From the looks of the poster you also expect that Fit NHB’s Charlie Williams and Judement MMA’s Jerome Rivera will also being making their pro debut on this card. Williams has at least 9 recorded amateur bouts, including ending his amateur time with consecutive decision wins. Rivera in 1 year of amateur competition went 4-0 with all 4 wins by rear naked choke.
