Over he last 8 days ther’s been so much news it’s been hard to get theis blit’s up, but it’s up. Lot of fights have been announced, things have changed due to injury an gun shot, and we have the huge new of the return of the G.O.A.T Anderson SilvaJuly 22- A torn meniscus will cancel a Lightweight bout between UFC number 4 ranked Khabib “The Eagle” Nurmagomedov & UFC number 5 ranked Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone, that was never able to be announced as the injury occurred 20 minutes after contracts were signed.

July 22– Number 10 ranked Featherweight Conor McGregor (15-2) and number 6 ranked Dustin Poirier (16-3) has been added to UFC 178. McGregor the most popular fighter in Ireland has won 10 fights in a row including going 3-0 in the UFC with wins over Marcus Brimage (TKO), Max Holloway (UD), and Diego Brandao. Poirier is 8-2 since the WEC/UFC merger and has won 3 fights in a row over Erik Koch (UD), Diego Brandao (KO), and Akira Corassani (TKO).

July 22- The highly anticipated September 22, Light Heavyweight title rematch between Jon “Bones” Jones (20-1) and Alexander “The Mauler” Gustaffsson (16-2) will take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

July 23- The Nevada State Athletic Commission has given Vitor Belfort (24-10) a conditional licsence to face UFC Middleweight champion Chris Weidman (12-0) at UFC 181, on December 6 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. In February Belfort failed a drug test with elevated testosterone levels, which forced Belfort to watch Lyoto Machida challenge Weidman for UFC gold at UF 175, a bout that Weidman won by unanimous decision. Belfort has won 3 fights in a row all by (T)KO, but has not fought since November 2013. The co-main event of UFC 181 will see former Strikeforce Lightweight champion Gilbert “El Nino” Melendez (22-3) challenging Anthony “Showtime” Pettis (17-2) for the UFC Lightweight title.

July 23- At the same Nevada State Athletic Commission hearing recently retired UFC fighter Chael Sonnen (28-14-1) was suspended for 2 years fro a pair of failed drug tests; and Sonnen will also to pay back the sum of what the analysis of  the drug test coast. At the hearing Sonnen who tested positive for 5 different banned substances, admitted his guilt.

July 23- Alexander Gustafsson (16-2) has suffered a knee injury that has forced him out of UFC 178 title rematch. Jon Jones (20-1) will instead defend the UFC Light Heavyweight title against Strikeforce Heavyweight grand prix winner, former Olympian Daniel Cormier (15-0). Jones is coming off a UFC 172 unanimous decision win over Glover Teixeira, the champs 8th consecutive title defense. Since a move to 205 lbs. Cormier has defeated Patrick Cummins and Dan Henderson.

July 24- Mike Rhodes (6-3) is injured an out of UFC Fight Night 51, he will be replaced by the returning Joe Riggs (40-14) in a Welterweight match-up with Paulo Thiago (15-7). Riggs is on a 6 fight win streak coming off a unanimous decision win over Mike Bronzoulis. Thiago is 2-6 in his last 8, coming off a unanimous decision loss to Gasan Umalatov. UFC Fight Night 51 on September 13 in Brasilia, Brazil.

July 24- The first bout announced for UFC Fight Night 53 in Stockholm, Swedan, is in the welterweight division and will pit Nico Musoke (12-3) against TUF 7 winner Amir Sadollah (6-4). Musoke is 2-1 in the UFC coming off a decision loss to Kelvin Gastelum. Sadollah had not fought in 2 years, since a decision loss to Dan Hardy, due to multiple injuries.

July 24- UFC Fight Night 51 adds a Bantamweight rematch between Rani Yahya (19-8) and Johnny Bedford (19-11-1). At UFC Fight Night 39 these two met and the bout ended in a no contest after a accidental headbutt from Bedford to Yahua. Bedford has since been stopped in under 40 seconds by Cody Gibson. Yahya is yet to fight since.

July 24- The 16 month retirement of Nick Diaz (26-9-0, 1nc) is over as the former Strikeforce Welterweight champion has signed a 3 fight extension with the UFC. Since returning to the UFC, after almost 5 years away, Diaz has gone 1-2, with a decision win over BJ Penn; and a pair of decision losses to Carlos Condit and George St. Pierre.

July 25- UFC Fight Night 53 on October 4, at the Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden; has added a Featherweight bout between Niklas Backstrom (8-0) and Mike Wilkinson (8-1). Backstrom at UFC Fight Night 41 made his promotional debut submitting Tom Niinimaki. Wilkinson has not fought in over a year since being put to sleep by a Rony Jason triangle choke, at UFC on Fuel TV 10.

July 25- UFC announces the signing of Olympic Gold medalist Henry Cejudo (6-0) , who will make his promotional debut at UFC 177 against veteran Scott Jorgensen (15-9). Cejudo pulled out of a Legacy 34 headlining bout vs. Brian Hall; after having pulled out of a Legacy 32 Flyweight title bout against Damacio Page. In 2 bouts under the Legacy banner Cejudo defeated Ryan Hollis and Elias Garcia by unanimous decision, end a streak of 3 straight TKO wins. At UFC Fight Night 44 Jorgensen ended a 3 fight skid with a unanimous decision win over Danny Martinez.

July 26- UFC Fight Night 53 on October 4, at the Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden; has added a Featherweight bout between Ernest Chavez (7-1) vs. Zubaira Tukhugov (16-3). Chavez is coming off a TUF 3 Finale submission loss to Elias Silverio, while Tukhugov is on a 7 fight win streak that includes a unanimous decision win over Douglas Andrade.

July 26- Jose Aldo vs. Chad Mendes II has been rescheduled for UFC 179 on October 25th in Rio de Janeiro.

July 28- August 23rds UFC Fight Night 48’s line up is full with 10 bouts after the additions of Roland Delorme (9-3) vs. Yuta Sasaki (17-1-2) & Milana Dudieva (10-3) vs. Elizabeth Philips (4-2). Delorme will be looking to rebound from decision losses to Alex Caceres and Michinori Tanaka, while Sasaki makes his promotional debut on a 11 fight unbeaten streak and a 7 fight win streak. Dudieva who has 6 wins by submission makes her promotional debut comng off back to back submission wins over Anastasia P;isenkova and Daria Chibisova, while Philips enters the octagon for the 2nd time still in search over her first UFC win coming off a split decision loss to Valerie Letourneau; that end a 4 fight win streak.

July 28- September 20th’s UFC fight Night 52 has added Urijah Faber (31-7) vs. Masenori Kanehara (23-11-5). Faber is coming off a submission of Alex Cacerews rebounding from a 2nd loss to Renan Barao. Kanehara has his debut having won 6 of 7; and has 17 wins by stoppage.
July 29- Dennis Siver (21-9) vs. Robert Whiteford (11-2) has been added to October 4th’s UFC Fight Night 53 taking place in Stockholm. Siver will be back in action for the first time since UFC 168 in which he won the fight and then tested positive for HCG, changing the bout with Manny Gamburyan as a no contest. Whiteford is coming off a UFC 171 unanimous decision win over Daniel Pineda.

July 29- UFC 178 adds Bobby Green (23-5) against Jorge Masvidal (27-8). Both Lightweight are coming off UFC on Fox 12, decision wins. Masvidals was unanimously over Darron Cruickshank and was his 2nd in a row. Green’s came as a split over Josh Thomson, which is his 8th win in a row.

July 29- UFC Fight Night 51 adds Gleison Tibau (29-10) vs. Piotr Hallmann (15-2) at Lightweight & Godofredo Pepy (10-3) vs. Dashon Johnson (9-1) at Featherweight. Tibau is coming off decision win over Pat Healy, while Hallman is coming off submitting Yves Edwards. Peppy recently ended a 2 fight skid with a knock out of Noad Lahat. Johnson is last fought in New Zealand taping to a Jake Matthews triangle choke.

July 29- Thanks to a gun related accident the in cage return of Joe Riggs (40-14) will be postponed. Paulo Thiago (15-7) will instead meet Sean Spencer (11-3) at UFC Fight Night 51 on September 13. Thiago is 2-6 in his last 8 with a 2 fight losing streak. Spencer recently has a 2 fight win streak ended by a split decision loss to Alex Garcia.July 29- The UFC has announced that former Middleweight champion and all time great Anderson “The Spider” Silva (33-6) will return to the octagon at UFC 183 on January 31, against former Strikeforce champion and UFC title challenger Nick Diaz (26-9). Silva will be retuning from gruesomely breaking his leg at UFC 168 from a low kick being checked by Chris Weidman. Diaz will returning from a short lived retirement that started after a UFC 158 unanimous decision loss to George St. Pierre.

July 30- Newly signed Jan Blachowicz (17-3) will face Ilir Latifi (9-3) at UFC Fight Night 53 in Stockholm. Polands Blachowicz enters the UFC on a 5 fight win streak, while Latifi has won consecutive bouts in the UFC over Cyrille Diabate (SUB) and Chris Dempsey (KO).
