UFC Signs Legacy Women’s Bantamweight Champion Holly Holm
For quite some time 3 women’s names have been floating around the MMA rumor mill for who was going to sign with the UFC. Today Thursday July 10, UFC President Dana White announced on twitter that one of those women Holly “The Preacher’s Daughter” Holm (7-0), has become the newest addition to the Women’s Bantamweight division.Holm a Jackson-Wink trained fighter is a multiple time Boxing world champion, who is Widely regarded as one of the top female boxers of all time. Holm as a boxer went 32-2-2, with 9 wins by (T)KO and ended her Boxing career with 3 consecutive unanimous decision wins.
Holm first fought in MMA in 2011 while still boxing. In the cage Holm has 6 of 7 win by TKO, including a 2013 top head kick knock out, which “The Preacher’s Daughter” scored at Legacy 21, stopping Allanna Jones. Holm last fought at Legacy 30 defeating Juliana Werner by TKO to become the first LFC Women’s Bantamweight champion.
Holm also at Legacy 30 suffered a broken arm and is still awaiting clearness to return to training. With that being said it’s no surprise that the Octagon debut of Holm is yet to be determined.
