New RFA 18 Main Event Alexandre Pantoja vs. Matt Manzares
With Joby Sanchez (6-0) heading to the UFC, Alexandre Pantoja (14-2) has been named as the new challenger to Matt Manzares (7-2) at RFA 18 on September 12th.
Brazilian, Pantoja a member of Nova Uniao, has won 7 fights in a row. Pantoja has 6 of 14 wins by 1st round stoppage and 6 of 10 stoppages by knock out. His last loss came in 2010, to now teammate and then number 1 world ranked Flyweight Jussier da Silva, by unanimous decision.
Wyoming’s, Manzanares a member of Black Dragon Martial Arts has won 3 of 4, coming off capturing the vacant RFA Flyweight title by split decision at RFA 14 defeating Junior Maranhao, rebounding from a unanimous decision loss to Zach Makovsky, at RFA 11, which was for the vacant RFA Flyweight title. Manzanares has 3 first round wins and 4 of 6 stoppages by knock out.
RFA 18 will be the promotions first trip to the “Land of Enchantment”, and is taking place at the Albuquerque Convention Center.
