Bellator 131 adds Manhoef vs. Schilling
Melvin Manhoef (29-11-1) will have his 2nd Bellator fight at Bellator 131 welcoming Glory Kick-boxer Joe Schilling (1-3) back to MMA after more then 6 years.
Manhoef who has 27 of 29 wins by knock out, has won 2 in a row coming off a Bellator debut KO of Doug Marshall at Bellator 125. After the win over Marshall, Scott Croker Bellator president said that Manhoef had earned himself a Middleweight title shot; but looks to be on hold.
Schilling fought 4 times in MMA in 2008 winning 1 and losing all 3 by submission, including a loss to current UFC fighter Tony Ferguson. In Glory the worlds biggest kickboxing organization, also seen on spike TV, Schilling is 4-2. At Glory 10 Schilling won a one night 4 man Middleweight World Championship Tournament, defeating world ranked number 1 Artem Levin by unanimous decision in the finals. At Glory 17 a one-night 8-man Middleweight Championship Tournament Schilling would again make it to the finals, but this time suffered a unanimous decision loss to Levin.
This bout is expected to be an all striking affair.
Bellator 131 is on November 15th at the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego, California; and is headlined by grudge match between Tito Ortiz & Stephen Bonnar.
