The last man to defeat, current UFC Heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic will be the next title challenger.
At UFC on Fox 13, former Heavyweight champion, Junior Dos Santos took a unanimous decision victory, from Miocic, after 5 exciting rounds. Dos Santos followed the win up with a TKO loss to Alistair Overeem, but regained his form in dismantling Ben Rothwell last April. Stefan Struve had been schedule to face “Cigano” next, but withdrew, giving the UFC the opportunity to make this rematch. Since the loss to JDS, Miocic has been on fire, with 4 straight wins, all by knock out, and the last 4 in the first round. Including his championship win over Fabricio Werdum and successful title defense against Alistair Overeem.
The card is also expected to see former Heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum against Ben Rothwell. In September Werdum rebounded from losing the title with a unanimous decision win over Travis Browne. Rothwell will be looking to rebound from a unanimous decision loss to Junior Dos Santos, which ended a 4 fight win streak.
UFC 211 will be on May 13, at the American Airlines Arena in Dallas, Texas.
