Holm vs. Ladd Set for UFC 235
Coming off handing a prospect their first loss at Featherweight, former champion Holly Holm returns to Bantamweight, to face rising prospect Aspen Ladd, who looks to earn the label of contender, at UFC 235.
UFC 235 is scheduled for Saturday, March 2, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Holm (12-4), from Albuquerque, New Mexico, is the most decorated female boxer of all-time. “The Preacher’s Daughter” pulled off one of the biggest upsets in MMA history when a head kick ended Ronda Rousey’s title run at UFC 193. Holm landed a similar kick to take out Bethe Correia at UFC Fight Night 111. When the 37-year-old lost a decision to Cris “Cyborg” at UFC 219, she was the first person to make it to a decision against the Brazilian in over 7 years. At UFC 225 Holm got back in the win column with a decision over previously unbeaten Megan Anderson.
Ladd (7-0), from Pioneer, California, went 5-0 in invicta FC, including a decision win over Sijara Eubanks, before getting the call up to the UFC. In two trips into the Octagon, Lapp has finished Lina Lansberg & Tonya Evinger with violent ground and pound.
