Namajunas vs. Andrade headlines UFC 237
Reportedly the Ultimate Fighting Championship will be hosting UFC 237 in Brazil, with the Women’s Strawweight Title on the line in the main event.
UFC 237 is expected to be May 11 in Brazil, city and venue are not confirmed.
Namajunas heads into her 2nd title defense having won 6 of 7 and 3 straight. “Thug” Rose earned her title shot by submitting Michelle Waterson with a rear naked choke. The 26-year-old won the strawweight Title with a first round knock of Joanna Jedrzejczyk and won the rematch by unanimous decision.
Andrade has won 7 of 8 and is on a 3 fight win streak. The 27-year-old won 4 in a row to earn her first title shot, which she lost by unanimous decision to Joanna Jedrzejczyk. Andrade rebounded with decision wins over Claudia Gadelha and Tecia Torres. The Brazilian is coming off a UFC 228 knockout of Karolina Kowalkiewicz.
