J-Train & Mean Machine to battle for Vacant LFA Featherweight title

Legacy Fighting Alliance has announced the currently vacant LFA featherweight title will be up for grabs in the main event of LFA 85.

Contenders Series alums, unbeaten, Justin “J-Train” Gonzales & Steve “Mean Machine” Garcia Jr. will encage in hostilities for the honor of becoming the 4th ever LFA featherweight champion.  LFA 85 is set for April 3rd at the 1STBANK Center in Broomfield, Colorado.

Gonzalez (10-0) is a Colorado native, who prior to his appearance on the Contender Series has fought his entire pro career for Sparta Combat League. “J-Train” has shown gritty wrestling, like grinding up Zach Zane on the Contender Series; and the skill to finish with three of his four stoppage wins coming by TKO. Altogether between his professional and amateur experience, Gonzales had compiled a 19-0 mark. Even more impressive is his opponents have had a combined 52-15 record. 

Garcia (11-3) is from Rio Rancho, NM, fighting out of Jacksonwink MMA. The “Mean Machine” ran his win streak to four at LFA 80 scoring a second round TKO of Jose Mariscal. Following up on a first round TKO of Desmond Torres, which happened on the Contender Series. The 27-year-old has won his last three by TKO. Overall the seven -fight, Bellator vet has all eight of his finishes by knockout. A lengthy striker with sharp elbows, Garcia is well versed on using all limbs.
