LFA 81 Emmers vs. Barbosa Results
Legacy Fighting Alliance is at The Hangar at the OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa, California for LFA 81. A 12-fight card headlined by featherweight action, Jamall “Pretty Boy” Emmers versus Rafael “Coxinha” Barbosa.
Both main event participants have been featured on Dana White’s looking for a fight. Emmers has scored three straight knockout victories. Both have won seven of their last eight fight with four knockout.
Main Card Recap:
The main card on UFC Fight Pass opened up with Women’s strawweight action Vanessa Demopoulos versus Loveth Young. While Young found early success with her striking. Demopoulos would get the fight to the ground and nearly ending the fight in the first round by armbar and being in mount to end the third round. The ground dominance of Demopoulos would garner a the decision win. In bantamweight action take-downs in every round saw Leandro Gomez edge out a split decison over Yuma Horiuchi. Vincent Cachero, while appreciative of Marvin Garcia for taking the fight on 24-hours notice, he didn’t take it lightly on his foe. Cachero withstood the early waive of offense from Garcia. In the second round knees from inside the clinch would send Garcia to the ground. Cachero would spin around to the back punching from the wrestler side ride position till the ref jumped in. Sam Hughes remain unbeaten after a relentless 15-minute effort agaibsr Lisa Mauldin pushing the pace the entire time. Christian Aguilera showed off his grappling putting Glaucio Eliziario on his back and scoring with ground & pound for the first two rounds to win a unanimous decision. Jacob Rosales won the first two rounds of his co-main event bout against Salaiman Ahmadyar, scoring with crisp combinations and punishing leg kicks. In the third round Rosales helf off a Ahmadyar come to collect the decision victory. In the main event Jamall Emmers faced Rafael Barbosa, both opening an impressive win would mean title contention. Emmers masterfully attacked the legs early, followed up by incorporating his punches. Finally after breaking Barbosa down, putting him on the mat. From having Barbosa’s back, Emmers would transition to the side choke putting the Brazilian to sleep.
