UFC Fight Night August 8th adds Montano vs Avila
The newest addition to UFC Fight Night Lewis vs. Olieinik will see a former champion against a streaking prospect.
First reported by MMA Fighting Nicco Montano the number fifteen ranked bantamweight contender will take on Julia “Raging Panda” Avila, pictured above, on August 8th. The two are no stranger having fought on the regional circuit in 2017. Montano handing Avila her lone loss by unanimous decision.
Montano was the inaugural women’s flyweight champion who we last saw in action last July against Juliana Pena. In February an injury derailed a scheduled meeting with Macy Chiasson. The first ever Native American UFC champion, Montano has the majority of her win by decision.
Avila comes in on a four-fight win streak. The “Raging Panda” made her octagon debut at UFC 239 defeating Pannie Kianzad by decision. This past Saturday at UFC Fight Night Eye vs. Calvillo, Avila scored a twenty-two second TKO of Gina Mazany.
