Heavyweight Champion to be Crown at LFA 113

The saying goes that everything is bigger in Texas and with that in mind LFA will have their biggest prize on the line when they return to the “Lone Star State” on July 30th.

Legacy Fighting Alliance is returning to the state of their inspection to crown the promotions third heavyweight champion as Vernon “Big E” Lewis will battle Thomas “The Train” Petersen for the vacant title.

Vernon Lewis (8-4) is a Fort Worth police officer, whose been around the promotion since the Legacy FC days and even fought for the title in 2014. Since the RFA – Legacy FC merger, “Big E” has racked up the most wins in the heavyweight division going 4-0. The victories have been high quality defeating current UFC heavyweight Jared Vanderaa by decision & scoring a TKO of Contender Series vet Austen Lane.

Thomas Petersen (4-0) is a Minnesota native with decorated wrestling credentials including two High School state championships & a NJCAA national championship at Iowa Central. Those skills have translated seamlessly to MMA. It has taken Petersen just 5 minutes & 34 seconds of cage time in the LFA to rack up knockouts of Brian Peterson, Kimo Luis, & Odell Pantin.

 LFA 113 will originate from the Bell County Expo Center in Belton, Texas, main card streams on UFC Fight Pass.
