Professional Boxing Returns to Hobbs on August 7th
Isidro Castillo has announced on Facebook that his School of Hard Knocks promotions will be hosting a huge night of Boxing that will see a bit of history made.
The first sanctioned Bare Knuckle boxing match has been booked and will see Albuquerque’s “Lookout” Levi Lucero against Midland’s, Anthony Sanchez. Lucero has a wrestling roots along with experience in Boxing & MMA. Sanchez is tough Texan known for a brawling style.
At this point the rest of the card is booked to be traditional boxing matches.
Starting with Rico Urquizo vs. Oscar Espinoza which could be fight of the night. In an all-Texas showdown unbeaten Desmond Hill from Odessa, who has 66% of his wins by knockout, will face Michael Sanchez from Midland, who has 100% of his win by knockout. There are two heavyweight bouts that have put pen to paper. The first will see Roman Huerta of Odessa against Mark Martinez of Hobbs and the second has Jonathon Abeyta of Farmington, NM, facing Ricky Martinez of Levelland, TX; both are making their pro debuts.
After 12 years away from competition Freddy Sandoval will wrap the hand once again to take on Midland’s Mark Sanchez, a fighters fighter willing to go with anyone. In a meeting of fighter stepping in the ring for the second time Yhorhighnee Rezzaq will square off with Shane Hall. With the momentum of a TKO in his last fight Jorrel Sparenberg will clash with Ricardo Reyes whose won his last two.
It also looks like opponent searches are still underway looking for willing parties to battle several fighters including unbeaten Mario Gonzalez, unbeaten Abel Navarrete Jr, pro debut-er Abraham Perez, who was close to heading to the Olympics, & heavyweight vet Elijo Sena among others.
On July 3rd School of Hard Knocks will be hosting a press conference from the events host venue Club La Sierra.
