Championship Double Header set for UFC 266
The UFC 266 card in September is stacking up to be one the year’s monster cards.
The main event will see TUF coaches battle as Brian “T-City” Ortega challenges Alexander “The Great” Volkanovski for the UFC featherweight title. The two has been scheduled to meet at UFC but the fight was postponed after the champion tested positive for Covid-19. This past October Ortega beat Chan Sung Jung by unanimous decision earning his shot at the belt. Volkanovski hasn’t fought in a year since defeating former champion Max Holloway for a second time.
In the co-main event spot Valentina “The Bullet” Schevchanko will defend the UFC women’s flyweight championship against “Lucky” Lauren Murphy. “The Bullet” has hit the bullseye every time out at 125 lbs. being 7-0 in the division with four finishes, three by knockout, and five title defenses. Murphy is on a five-fight win streak that includes submitting Liliya Shakirova and TKO-ing Mara Borella. Plus, three decision wins over ranked contenders Andrea Lee, Roxanne Modafferi, & Joanne Calderwood.
UFC 266 is set for September 25th in Las Vegas, Nevada.
