Former Bellator Champion to Make PFl Debut at the 2021 Championship
Former Bellator Women’s Featherweight champion Julia “The Jewel” Budd has signed with the Pro Fighter League.
“The Striking Viking” Kaitlin Young will be welcoming “The Jewel” a fellow Invicta FC vet to the hexagon on October 27th.
Budd parts ways with a Bellator after a six-year run that saw her go 9-1. The Canadian fighter captured the Bellator title in 2017 by fourth round TKO of the legend Marloes Coenen. Budd would defend the title three times including TKO’s of Talita Nogueira & Olga Rubin. Budd exits the promotion off consecutive decision wins.
Young a pro since 2007 has been their done that and seen and been a part of the WMMA explosion. The “Striking Viking” as a who’s who resume having fought Miesha Tate, Gina Carano, Julie Kedzie, Leslie Smith, Liz Carmouche, & Lauren Murphy. Yong went 1-1 during the PFL 2021 regular season beating Cindy Dandois by decision and missed out on the playoff after losing on the cards to Mariana Morais.
