Johnson-Mota Flyweight Title Bout headlines LFA 112
Legacy Fighting Alliance is returning to The Show Me for LFA 122 with the Flyweight Title on the line in the main event.
The Factory at the District in St. Louis, Missouri will host LFA 122 the promotions fifth event in the state.
Reigning Flyweight champion Charles Johnson, St. Louis native will defend the undisputed title for the first time when takes on unbeaten Brazilian prospect Carlos Mota.
After spending 2019 & 2020 competing in Boxing, Johnson returned to MMA when he got another chance with the LFA. At LFA 100 Johnson submitted Karlee Pangilinan by anaconda choke. Johnson then upset Japan’s Yuma Horiuchi at LFA 110 to capture the interim title by decision because champion Victor Altamirano was given a spot on the Contender Series. The “Inner G” successfully defended the interim title eight weeks later at LFA 114 stopping Joao Camilo. Altamirano has moved on to the UFC elevating Johnson to undisputed champion.
Mota dazzled in his U.S. debut at LFA 79 stopping George Martinez with a body kick. So much that he was scheduled to face Alatmirano for the belt at LFA 100 but was unable to. At LFA 112 Mota again impressed beating Jefferson Oliveria by decision.
The co-main event will be at Lightweight as grappling expert Brandt Moore who’s on a seven-fight win streak takes on former title challenger Arthur Estrázulas.
