Ryan Bader Immediately Book for Another Title Defense

Moments after Ryan Bader unified the Bellator Heavyweight titles his next challenger was right in front of his face.

Bader (29-7) narrowly defeated Valentin Moldavsky by decision in the main event Bellator 273. In the cage post-fight, it was that Bader would be rematching Cheick Kongo May 6th in Paris. The first meeting came in September of 2019 ending in a no contest after Bader poked Kongo in the eye.Ou tside of the no contest, the champion has won all four of his heavyweight fights in Bellator including knocking out both Muhammed Lawal & Fedor Emelianenko in under a minute.

The 46-year-old Kongo (31-11) has won nine of his last ten fights. After five decision wins in a row skeptics loudly roared that Kongo was a boring fighter and losing a step. The Frenchman has responded with finish in three of his last for fights. Knocking out Javy Ayala & Timothy Johnson in the first-round while Sergei Kharitonov submitted to a rear naked choke in the second.
