Footprint Arena in Phoenix Arizona hosts UFC 274. The 15-fight card is topped two world title fights.
The completion of tonight’s main event was flipped on its head yesterday when Lightweight champion Charles Oliveira failed to make weight. As soon as the fight starts Oliveira is stripped of the title. “Do Bronx” is ineligible of winning the title. With a win Just Gaethje leaves new UFC Lightweight champion. An Oliveira win leaves the title vacant, but he’ll be in the next title fight.
The co-main event will see a rematch for the UFC women’s Strawweight world championship. Carla Esparza defeated Rose Namajunas to win the inaugural 115 lbs. title. Nearly eight years later Namajunas is heading into her second defense of her second reign as champion, while Esparza has won five in a row to earn this opportunity.
The rest of an action-packed main card will see former Bellator Lightweight champion “Iron” Michael Chandler against former interim UFC Lightweight champion Tony “El Cucuy” Freguson. Also, at Lightweight bonus machines and fan favorites face off as Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone takes on Joe Lauzon. Former Pride & UFC world champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua looks to avenge 2014 knockout loss to Ovince St. Preux.
