Ferea-Starling Title Bout 1st Fight Announced for BKFC 28 in New Mexico

Bareknuckle is a genre of Combat Sports that has been quickly sweeping the nation over the recent years. Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship the sports number one promotion will be making its long awaited debut in the “Land of Enchantment” August 27th.

The Rio Rancho Events Center will host BKFC 28.  The first official fight on the card will see Taylor “Killer Bee” Starling challenging Christine “Misfit” Ferea for the BKFC women’s Flyweight Championship.

Starling hails from South Carolina but did spend a few years training in Albuquerque with FIt NHB. Since turning her attentions to Bare Knuckle “Killer Bee” has excelled winning three in a row. The most recent a decision over Hannah Guy. Ferea is an Invicta FC vet from California now residing in Florida. The champion is 5-1 in Bare Knuckle and has won three straight. In February the “Misfit” captured the vacant Flyweight title by decision win over Britain Hart.

There’s no love lossed between the two who had a public altercation at BKFC fight night Fort Lauderdale in April. Starling went up and physically took the title belt from Ferea who was being interviewed at the time. Starling making good on an earlier promise to take the belt from Ferea. The fighters were quickly separated and the belt was returned to the rightful owner.

The state of New Mexico has had Bare Knuckle legalize for well over a year. School of Hard Knocks promotion has already made history by hosting the first regulated Bare Knuckle fight in August of 2021. This weekend Tapia promotions event Honoring late world champion Johnny Tapia is expected to have two Bare Knuckle fights on the card. BKFC will be the first promotion to host a full Bare Knuckle card in the state.

New Mexico’s own Isaac Vallie-Flagg has fought for the promotion three times including beating his friend Melvin Guillard and battling Luis Palomino for the vacant BKFC Lightweight championship.  It’s rumored but unconfirmed that Vallie-Flagg will be apart of the card in Rio Rancho.

Bare Knuckle FC did recently make a major free agent splash recently adding two-time UFC title challenger John “The Magician” Dodson to the roster.  It would make a lot of sense for the TUF 14 winner’s promotional debut to come in his backyard.

There’s heavy speculation going around that the card will have a real New Mexico field to it.
