Light-Heavyweight & Interim Women’s Flyweight Title Fights set for LFA 143
Legacy Fighting Alliance has announced their sixth event in Brazil will be a championship double header and come in front of the biggest crowd in the promotion’s history.
LFA 143 is set for September 30th at the Ginásio de Esportes Geraldo Magalhães in Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil. The crowd is expected to here 10,000. Making it the largest in company history.
The main event will see a sixth LFA Light-Heavyweight champion crowned as Unbeaten Bruno Lopes faces dynamic 24-yeard old Willyanedson Paiva. Lopes ran his record to 10-0 at LFA 136. The 29-year-old scored a first-round submission by arm-triangle for his home state of Soa Paulo in their team battle against Rio De Janeiro. The win gave Lopes his eighth career finish, fourth by submission, and third by arm-triangle. Win or Lose Paiva has never seen the judges’ cards. The native of Toritama, which is in Pernambuco has three wins by knockout, five by submission, and his last two have come by armbar.
The co-main event will see a battle for an interim women’s Flyweight title. Top Brazilian prospects Gabriella Fernandes and Karolina Martins will vie for the belt. Fernandes won a decision over Queila Braga at LFA 11 & submitted Edna Oliveira at LFA 132. Martins makes her promotional debut having won four of five, three have come by decision. Champion Jamey-Lyn Horth is currently sidelined by injury but will battle the winner in a unification bout.
