One on Prime Video 3 Recap, Two World Champions Crowned

The Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia hosts One on Prime Video 3. The nine-fight combat sports card features a world championship triple header.

The One Bantamweight title is on the line in the main event. John Lineker relinquished the belt on the scale after missing weight leaving only Fabricio de Andrade eligible to win the championship. In a battle for the inaugural One Lightweight Muay Thai title Regian Eersel squares off with Sinsamut Klinmee. And Jiu Jitsu ace Kade Rutolo faces Sambo master Uali Kurzhev for a One grappling championship that only Rutolo is eligible to win.  

The night got started with a women’s Atomweight MMA bout. Lea Bivins, making her pro debut took the action right into the clinch exchanging knees for punches with Noelle Grandjean. Grandjean puts a sudden end to the fight as a straight right forced Bivins to waive off the contest 4:01 into the first round. Mehdi Zatout nailed Asa Ten Pow with a right hand closing up his left eye forcing their Bantamweight Muay Thai bout to be halted after the first round. Following his 79th career victory Zatout announced he was retiring. Taiki Baito proved a hard target for Amir Naseri took while producing a kick heavy offense to win their Flyweight Muay Thai bout by unanimous decision. Jeremy Miado knocked down Danial Williams in the first with a right hook, the second with a left hook, and got the finish off a four-punch combination punctuated by a straight right thirty-one seconds into the third round.

Shamil Gasanov wasted no time making a big impression in his One debut dragging Jae Woong Kim to the mat jumping on his foes back and securing a first-round rear naked choke. The lone Kickboxing bout of the card saw Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong defeat Mohammed Boutasaa by unanimous decision on the strength of his left hook, chopping low kicks, and step in left knees.

For as long as the first One Lightweight submission grappling match-up lasted Kade Ruotolo was in control. The 19-year-old took Uali Kurzhev’s back threatening the rear naked choke on a trio of occasions. Ruotolo with a takedown from a body lock scrambled to stand over his opponent pressing forward to step up a guard pass, instead dropping back for a leg after an adjustment forcing the tap from an inside heel hook.

The first round of the co-main event saw Klinmee have major success with low kicks and straight punches as Eersel existed the exchanges. The Dutchman came back in the second with a tight defense guard and shar jab. After the third the visual damage was apparent as Eersel’s lead left leg was bright red and Klinmee had purple inside his left leg to accompany a swollen nose. A tick for tack back and forth kicking game was tie broken by the accuracy of the Eersel punches. By split decision Regian Eersel becomes the first One Muay Thai Lightweight world champion to add to his One Kickboxing Lightweight world championship.

In the main event John Lineker came out with chopping inside leg kicks. Once Andrade had a beat on his opponent’s offense, he attacked with his jabbing busting the former champion up. “Hands of Stone” resorting to his not often used wrestling using punches during the scramble to claw his way back into the fight. By the end of the second round Lineker’s right eye is fully closed from an Andrade left. Lineker still winging big hooks but get intercepted. Andrade landed a crushing knee to the body followed by a cup shattering low blow. The fight is ruled a no contest.
