Flyweight Championship bout Headlines LFA 149
Legacy Fighting Alliance has announced they’ll be kicking off 2023 in the Valley of the Sun by crowning a new Flyweight champion.
The main event will see Brazil’s Felipe Bunes and Japan’s Yuma Horiguchi battling to become the tenth Flyweight champion in LFA history.
January 6th will be the promotions first trip to Chandler Arizona as the Gila River Resorts & Casinos – Wild Horse Pass Casino will host LFA 149.
This bout was originally scheduled for LFA 144 but was delayed due to injury. Bunes (12-6) is a Pitbull Brothers protege who signed with the LFA in 2022. He immediately jump into the main event spotlight going up 14 pounds above Flyweight to face UFC vet Jussier Formiga. The Brazilian dynamo returned to 125 lbs. at LFA 135 defeating Wascar Cruz by decision. Yuma Horiguchi (10-5) was the first Japanese fighter to sign with the LFA when he do so in 2020. Horiguchi has earned his second shot at LFA gold after knocking out Mark Climaco and submitting Juan Puerta.
