Borg set to make his Bellator Debut in Hawaii
Newly signed Ray “The Tazmexican Devil” Borg will make his debut for Bellator against a world class foe in a weight class the promotion doesn’t have.
As part of the Bellator 295 main card April 22nd in Hawaii Ray Borg (16-5) will face Kyoji Horiguchi (31-5) at Flyweight. Both fighters spent time in the UFC where they both challenged Demetrious Johnson for the UFC Flyweight title.
From time to time Bellator MMA will have a men’s flyweight fight but doesn’t focus on the division.
A multitude of issues some personal, others health related, and on the scale, lead to Borg parting ways with the UFC in 2020. The Jackson’s Acoma fighters is 3-0 since his last appearance in the octagon. “The Tazmexican Devil” went to UAE Warrior and beat Jesse Arnett. Then in two fights in Eagle FC Borg beat Cody Gibson & Ricky Bandejas.
Horiguchi left the UFC in 2017 finding huge success winning the Rizin World Grand Prix, the Rizin Bantamweight title, & Bellator Bantamweight title. Horiguchi has regained his footing after an early exit from the Bellator Bantamweight Grand Prix by submitting Yuto Hokamura at Rizin 38 and getting the better of Hiromasa Ougikubo at Bellator vs. Rizin.
