Legacy Fighting Alliance is at Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino in Niagara Falls for LFA 155. The 9-fight card is headlined by two of the top 135 lbs. prospects in the world battling for an Interim LFA Bantamweight championship on the line. The main event will see Rio De Janeiro, Brazil’s Rafael “Mulisha” Do Nascimento squaring off with Ohio’s Jerrell “ThunderKat” Hodge for the interim world title. Nascimento is on a four-fight win streak. The Brazilian took the LFA by storm last year as his submission of Marcus McGhee and knockout of Justin Wetzell both garnered nominations for end of the year awards. Hodge like his counterpart has won his last four MMA fights. “Thunderkat” stays fighting also being active as a Boxer. The Cleveland representative dose more then punch with his hands having wins by kneebar, triangle, and rear naked choke.

Recap:

The LFA 155 main card started out with Rodney Kealohi taking a decision win from Alvaro Prado on the strength of sharp knees to the body and constantly scrambling to his feet. Cody Davis wasted no time taking Joseph Camacho to the mat. Davis took the back and after several attempts at a rear naked choke transitioned to the top quickly securing a finish from arm triangle choke. Joe Taylor kept his unbeaten record in tack on the strength of second round knockdown from a right hand adding to his boxing combinations being exclimated by brutal body kicks. Kicks were the key as Mairon Santos landing to all three levels the legs, body, & up top en route to a decision win.

The battle for the interim Bantamweight title was as advertised. Jerrell Hodge opened up the contest by using his boxing to get inside on a takedown. Rafael Do Nascimento would take the back to take the second round. Hodge would use a jab hook combination in the third round to set up his takedown and escape a kimura to end the frame on top. The fourth round would see momentum swing both ways as Hodge landed crisper strikes before having his back taken but would turn inside to spend the last minute on top. The fifth round was just as much a seesaw as Hodge started the round drawing blood from Nascimento’s nose with his jab. Hodge would surprise his Brazilian counterpart with a pair double leg takedowns but Nascimento would end the fight on Hodge’s back.  The judges returned a unanimous decision in favor of Jerrell Hodge.
