Cody East gets new Foe for PFC 28
The Duke City debut of Peak Fighting Championship will still see a heavyweight title fight, but it’s now for a Vacant PFC heavyweight title.
Braxton Smith was scheduled to defend the PFC Heavyweight title against Cody East on May 6th. Smith will still be competing on May 6th but now it will be inside the octagon at UFC 288.
Brazilian Wesley De Almeida has been inserted as Smith’s replacement. The BJJ black belt comes in having choked his way to his last six victories. East is a UFC vet and state champion wrestler with 9 of his 13 win by knockout.
The card has also recently gained a featherweight bout that will see gunslinger Luis Luna against cheesehead Josh Marsh. Luna is a big show vet having fought for Shark Fights, LFA, Combate, & Fury FC. Marsh is a Wisconsin native now training out of the Elevation Fight Team in Colorado coming off of consecutive decision wins over Dillon Farley & Edwin Chavez.
