New Era see Hammer Era Begin

Legacy Promotions Presents NEW ERA took place at Embassy Suites Hotel Albuquerque. An electric night including a series of knockdowns and TKO’S and we also had battles go the distance. A very technical night of  boxing showcasing talent from around the world an the “Duke City”.

The main event, New Mexico’s very own Abraham “the hammer” Perez vs. Jeronil Borres was a spectacular fight. Perez was displaying beautiful boxing cutting corners slipping, and delivering hard combos stopping Borres in early round 3. The co main was a heavy hitter battle between Leonid “Baby Drago” Grachev vs. Chad Davis went the distance keeping everyone on the edge of their seats resulting in a draw. Both fighters saying post fight they want to run it back. The undercard was no disappointment setting the pace for the rest of the night. 

 

Abraham Perez vs. Jeronil Borres  Flyweight IBA Intercontinental Vacant Title Fight 8 rounds

  • Round 1: Perez landing over hand right and slipping Borres counters.
  • Round 2: Technical hard body shots  Perez also working his uppercut, Borres navigating and returning fire.
  • Round 3: Perez went low and came up top with an uppercut dropping Borres with a shot he never recovered from.

Heavyweight 6 Rds: Leonid Grachev 5-0-1vs. Chad Davis 6-16-1

  • Round 1: Davis came out working his jab and overhand Grachev countering.
  • Round 2:  Grachev throwing straight punches down the center getting the better end of things leaving Davis nose bloody.
  • Round 3: Both fighters throwing their own series of combos and finding the target it was a very close round.
  • Round 4: Grachev working his jab coming over with the right, Davis still pressing forward Grachev looking fresher all round.  
  • Round 5:  In between rounds Davis looked tired Grachev came out with the jab both fighters closing in fighting in the pocket.  Grachev landing straight jabs and crosses he takes the round.
  • Round 6:  Davis pressing forward both fighters showing the wear and tear of the fight. Davis had Grachev against the ropes.

Light Flyweight 4 Rds: Katherine Lindenmuth 3-1 vs. Takilla Long 0-0 

  • Round 1: Lindenmuth coming forward throwing power overhands landing she kept relentless pressure all round.  
  • Round 2: Lindenmuth landing a 1-2-3 combo and dropped Saldanha securing her victory.

Winner  Katherine Lindenmuth by TKO 18 sec round two

 

Super Featherweight 4 Rds: Martin Armijo 2-0 vs. Javier Cepeda 0-7

  • Round 1: Cepeda rushing in with big left hooks, but Armijo using angles boxing is landing combos.
  • Round 2:  Much more of the same in round two from round one. Both fighters in the pocket with Armijo being more of the point fighter while Cepeda is coming forward with power.
  • Round 3:  Armijo fighting off the back foot he landed overhands and jabs. Cepeda still pressing forward but isn’t having much success.
  • Round 4:  Armijo finding his range and utilizing slick footwork connecting with 1-2 combos touching the body.

Welterweight 4 Rds: Josh Rodriguez 1-0 vs. Jason Lugo 0-1 JR 

  • Round 1: Rodriguez scored an early knockdown and finished the job via over hand right TKO

Middleweight 4 Rds: Elija Martinez 1-0 vs. Bekhzod Usmonoz 0-4

  • Round 1: Martinez Landing his jab working the body of Usmonoz who was trying to find his rhythm.
  • Round 2: Martinez is more technical still continuing much of the same he did in round 1.
  • Round 3: Usmonoz finding the body and coming up top with his 1-2 and uppercut. Martinez answering back with body shots. 
  • Round 4: Martinez landing harder using his overhand left then going to the body.

Winner Elija Martinez unanimous dec (39-37 40-36 39-37)

 

Middleweight 4 Rds: Alexis Saucedo 0-2 vs. Josh Hatch 1-0

  • Round1: Very explosive round for both fighters that saw Saucedo scored a knockdown
  • Round 2: Hatch with a strong 1-2 combo landing hard all round.
  • Round 3: All hatch landing 1-2 power shots also finding the body. Hatch also scoring a knock down.
  • Round 4:  Saucedo giving it his all Hatch still continued to land more effectively hatch scoring a late knockdown with a referee stoppage late in round four.
