UFC 288 Co-main event moves to UFC 289

The co-main events for UFC 288 & 289 will both be title eliminators.

A minor injury to Charles Oliveira has postponed his lightweight number one contender bout with Beneil Dariush. The UFC has moved the fight from UFC 288 on May 6th to UFC 289 on June 10th. Dariush is on an eight-fight streak that includes decision wins over former interim champion Tony Ferguson and number seven ranked Mateusz Gamrot. Oliveira will be getting back in the octagon for the first time since being submitted by Islam Makhachev this past October. UFC 289 Takes Pl. on June 10 from Rogers Arena in Vancouver British Columbia, Canada.

The UFC has announced the new cold mean event of UFC 288 will be a five round welterweight affair as Number for rank Belal Muhammad squares off with number five ranked Gilbert Burns.  Muhammad is on an eight fight win streak coming off a TKO over Sean Brady at UFC 280. Burns made it back to back wins just two weeks ago defeating Jorge Masvidal by unanimous decision at UFC 287. UFC 288 is May 6 from the Prudential Center in Newark New Jersey.
