LFA Heading to El Paso for Women’s Flyweight Title Fight
Legacy Fighting Alliance is returning to the Lone Star State for a 24th time this summer, but for the first time they’ll be visiting the border city of El Paso, Texas. The headliner of LFA 164 will see a battle to become the fifth Women’s Flyweight champion in the promotions history.
LFA 164 is August 4th at the Southwest University Park in El Paso Texas. The event streams exclusively on UFC Fight Pass.
The main event will see UFC vet & former LFA Women’s Flyweight champion Sabina “The Columbian” Queen facing off against Contender Series vet Sandra “Peruvian Zombie” Lavado.
Mazo became the first Colombian fighter to sign with the LFA back in 2017. Two highlight reel head kicks later “The Colombian Queen” has become an internets sensation. A month shy of her 21st birthday Mazo would capture LFA gold. After one successful tile defense, it was off to the UFC. A seven fight stint inside the octagon has lead Mazo to changes teams, now working with former UFC Light-Heavyweight champion Glover Teixeria in efforts to regain her championship form.
Lavado is the top prospect from Peru. The 29-year-old has Golden Gloves and nationals boxing titles on her resume. A vet of Dana White’s Contender Series and the PFL Challengers series Lavado also holds the Fusion FC Women’s Flyweight title. To get the most out of herself Lavado trains at Lobo MMA alongside the line of UFC champion Alexa Grasso and UFC title challenger Irene Aldana.
