The Bullet Train has a Smooth first Run at Light-Heavyweight

Jackson Wink Fight Night 6 took place this evening at the historic Jackson Wink gym in Albuquerque, NM. Cody “The Bullet Train” East was tonight’s headliner, scheduled to face a very tough Josh Weston, who took the fight on short notice, making his way down from Missouri. East is coming off a tremendous win this summer as he captured the PFC heavyweight title against a veteran in Wesley Martins here in his home state of New Mexico. East moved down to light heavyweight for the first time tonight and he told us he felt better than ever, feeling rejuvenated East has big Goals in mind for his future. Light-Heavyweight: Cody East 15-7 vs Josh Weston 9-17

The Bullet Train is his name for a reason, East unleashed powerful kicks and punches as they clashed. East dropped Weston in round one and didn’t stop dropping bombs until the referee stepped in.

Amateur 

 Bantamweight: Jesus Serna Mendez 0-2 vs Esai Dimas 2-2

Violence is the best way to describe this fight. Serna was cut early on and bloodied. In round two Serna-Mendez slipped and fell  Esai Dimas was able to find his way to top position  eventually taking Jesus’s back earning a rear naked choke submission victory 1:43 seconds into round two.

Flyweight: Kabody Bryson 1-1 vs Donovan Garcia 1-1. 

Kabody Bryson was very effective landing kicks forcing Garcia to close the distance, initiating Bryson taking down Garcia.  Bryson quickly passed the guard of Garcia and sunk in a very deep guillotine choke  from top position making Garcia tap at  2:25 of round one.

Featherweight: Alexandro Rodriguez 1-2 vs Justin Kahle 1-0

Justin Kahle took down Alexandro Rodriguez off a spinning back kick attempt. Kahle advanced to mount landing some hard shots. Tt was much the same in round two as Kahle found another takedown that led to a side arm triangle choke making Rodriguez tapout in round two.

Middleweight: Calvin Collin 1-1 vs. Sebastian Renteria 0-1

Calvin Collins put on a beautiful performance Friday night he unleashed a series of devastating knees to the head of Sebastian Renteria making the referee step in calling a stop to the fight as 2:22 round two for the TKO victory.

Featherweight: Leo Bitsui 1-0 vs Eric Flores 0-2

A Razor thin decision, both fighters had strong moments in round one. Flores found his takedown having Bitsui against the cage early in round two.  For the second time Bitsui found a reversal capitalizing by inflicting damage on Flores ending the round in a dominant mount position. We ended up going the distance, a very close battle with the judges seeing it as a split decision (29-28 28-29 30-27) in favor for Leo Bitsui.

Lightweight: Christopher Lucero 0-1 vs Jacob Sosa 1-0 

Jacob Sosa’s relentless pressure  and pace led him to quickly closing the distance taking down Lucero early, once they hit the ground Sosa kept his pressure and earned a vicious ground and pound stoppage at 1:20 into round one.
