This MMA event is the first ever to have a submission grappling match on the card. The main event will see Featherweights Angelo “San I Warrior” Sanchez and Gabriel “Moggly” Benitez collide.

Albuquerque, NM (March 26, 2014) – Triple A MMA has partnered with the Echo Group, LLC, with the support of the Pueblo of Pojoaque Athletic Commission, to offer IV rehydration therapy to fighters following weigh-ins for ‘Triple A MMA V: Redemption at the Rock’. This one of a kind program is being offered by the Echo Group, a New Mexico based Medical Resource Company, to ensure combat sports athletes are well hydrated prior to competition. Licensed EMS staff will be on hand at the weigh-in event on March 28, for fighters who wish to take advantage of the service.

New Mexico Combat Sports Fan’s asked for it, and most thought it would never happen, but it’s happening March 29th 2014 at “Triple A MMA V: Redemption at the Rock” event. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black-Belts Quinn Mulhern (Gracie Barra-NM) and Josh Lanier (Hybrid Jiu-Jitsu) will compete in New Mexico’s first ever No-Gi Super-fight brought to you by Combat Sports Club inside the Triple A MMA Cage! Mulhern, who recently announced his retirement from MMA/UFC action, looks to keep his competitive juices flowing by taking on fellow BJJ player Josh Lanier in a winner take all, submission only bout. Lanier, who also recently retired from MMA/Bellator action, will look to cement his grappling skills within the New Mexico Combat Sports community by playing Jiu-Jitsu with the Gracie-Barra NM Professor.
The “San I Warrior” Angelo Sanchez (12-5) coming off 2 hard losses on March 29th, will be fighting close to home at the Camel Rock Casino headlining Triple A MMA V: Redemption at the Rock against Gabriel “Moggly” Benitez (15-4). We talk about the upcoming fight, changes that have been made to the camp, and what it will take to get the win.
At Triple A MMA V: Redemption at the Rock, Josh “Big Country” Lanier (Lanier Hybrid Jiu Jitsu) will take on Quinn Mulhern (Gracie Barra Santa Fe), in a 10 minute No-Gi, win by submission only, grappling match. Both Lanier and Mulhern recently have stepped away from active MMA competition, but we talk about how this contest has gotten those competitive juices following again. “Big Country” also talks with us about the growth of Jiu Jitsu and what’s the differences between Brazilian Jiu Jitsu compared to Lanier Hybrid Jiu Jitsu.
