Chavez Promotions- New Mexico Stars of Today
On Friday June 28, the Albuquerque Convention Center will play host to New Mexico Stars of Today which will be a Chavez Promotions Boxing event, featuring in the main event Warriors Academy product Cristian “El Puma” Cabral (5-0-1) taking on Joe Gomez (18-7-1, 8 KO’s).
Cristian Cabral most recently rebounded from a draw with Michael “Coca” Gallegos to defeat Donald Sanchez by unanimous decision at The Next Chapter 3.
Joe Gomez has not fought since dropping a split decision to Josh “Pitbull” Torres in July of 2012.
Victoria “La Reyna De Guerra” Cisneros (9-14-2, 3K’s) who iscoming off a unanimous decision win over DJ Morrison, will face Kita Watkins (7-10, 1KO); who has dropped back to back decisions to Jennifer Han and Aleksandra Magdziak Lopes.
In a 6 round rematch from November of 2012, Arturo “El Torro” Crespin (9-2-1, 3 KO’s) and Jose Garcia (3-5-1, 2KO’s) will meet again. Crespin is coming off a 6th round win over Charles Alderete, by corner stoppage. Jose Garcia has not fought since last being in the ring with Crespin.
A 4 round bout has also been put together pitting Robert Chaves (1-0) against Mike Quezada (0-1).
