Bellator Season 9 Middleweight Tournament Quarterfinals at Bellator 98
The Bellator season 9 Middleweight tournament quarterfinals have been set for September 7 at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. The match-up look like so Brett “Fudoshin” Cooper (19-8) vs. Andreas “Sweet Swede” Spang (8-3) Dan “Cosmo” Cramer (10-4) vs. Perry “Filthy” Filkins (7-1), Mikkel Parlo (9-1) vs. Brian “The Professional Predator” Rogers (10-5) and Giva “The Arm Collector” Santana (18-2) vs. Jason Butcher (6-0).
Brett Cooper will be looking to bounce back from a loss to Doug Marshall at Bellator 95 in the season 8 tournament finals, ending a 6 fight wins streak. Andreas Spang will be looking to end a 2 fight skid, losing to Maiquel Falcao in the season 6 tournament finals and to season 8 tournament winner Doug Marshall in the in the quarterfinals.
Dan Cramer is coming off seeing his 3 fight win streak ended by Brett Cooper in the Semifinals of the season 8 tournament. This will be the first tournament appearance for Perry Filkins who is on a 5 fight win streak that includes a Bellator 81 win over Jonas Billstein.
Mikkel Parlo will be looking to bounce back from his first pro loss to Sultan Aliev, in the season 8 tournament quarterfinals. In the same place Brian Rogers looks to bounce back from a season 8 quarterfinal loss to Dan Cramer. Rogers and Parlo combined by 15 of 17 stoppage wins by KO/TKO.
Giva Santana is coming off a Bellator 82 win over Brendan Seguin, bouncing back from a season 6 tournament quarterfinals loss to Bruno Santos. Jason Butcher of team Jorge Gurgel is coming off of scoring his 5th career win by submission defeating Jack Hermansson at Bellator 93.
The main event of Bellator 98 will see Season 8 Middleweight tournament winner Doug Marshall challenge Alexander “Storm” Shlemenko for the Bellator Middlewight title.
