Lightweights Makdessi & Forte Collide at UFC 165
Canadian striking specialist John “The Bull” Makdessi (11-2) of the Tristar gym, will meet TUF Brazil season 1’s Renee Forte (8-2) of Team Nogueira at UFC 165.
Makdessi is currently on a 2 fight winning streak having earned consecutive unanimous decision wins over Sam Stout and Daron Cruickshank. “The Bull” has 7 stoppage win all by KO/TKO.
Forte is coming off a successful Lightweight debut at UFC on Fuel TV 7, scoring a unanimous decision win over Terry Etim. Forte has 4 wins by stoppage split down the middle with 2 TKO’s and 2 submissions.
UFC 165 takes place on September 21 at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada; and is headlined by Alexander “The Mauler” Gustafsson challenging Jon “Bones” Jones for the UFC Light Heavyweight title.
