Season 10 of Bellator MMA starts on February 28, at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, with Bellator 110 featuring the opening round of the Light Heavyweight tournament.
Bellator has elected to go with a 4-man tournament for the Light Heavyweights in season 10. The opening round will see former Pride & UFC champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson (33-11) vs. former Bellator champion Christian M’Pumbu (18-5-1) in the main event, as well as former Strikeforce champion and 2013 Summer Series Light Heavyweight tournament winner “King Mo” Muhammed Lawal (11-3) against season 8 tournament finalist Mikhail Zayatas (22-7).
After a Bellator 106 fight with Tito Oritz was canceled, due to injury, Rampage made his promotional debut TKO of Joey Beltran; at Bellator 108.
M’Pumbu will be looking to end a 2 fight skid with losses to Travis Wiuff (UD) in a feature fight and then losing his title to Attila Vegh (UD).
“King Mo” will be looking to bounce back from a 2nd loss to Emanuel Newton, the second coming by decision in a interim Light Heavyweight title bout at Bellator 106.
Zayats after losing to Emanuel Newton in the season 8 finals, is coming off of submitting Aaron Rosa at Bellator 103.
It’s also expected that the Featherweight quarterfinals will take place at Bellator 110.
