Pearson out, Johnson faces Guillard in UFC Fight Night 37
The new co-main event for UFC Fight Night 37 will see a clash of former teammates as Micheal “The Menace” Johnson (14-8) replaces injured Ross “The Real Deal” Pearson (15-6), against “The Young Assassin” Melvin Guillard (31-12-2).
Pearson how has been sidelined with a knee injury was looking to face Guillard for the 2nd straight bout , after their first bout was cut short due to “The Young Assassin” landing a illegal knee to “The Real Deal”.
Johnson a member of the Blackzilians has rebounded from consecutive loss to Myles Jury (UD) and Reza Madadi (SUB), with a pair of wins over Joe Lauzon (UD) and Gleison Tibau (KO).
Prior to the no contest vs. Pearson, Guillard had ended a 2 fight skid to Donald Cerrone (KO) and Jamie Varner (SD);with a knockout of Mac Danzig.
