UFC 171 adds Pineda vs. Whiteford
Fighting in his home state for the first time on over 2 years is what Daniel “The Pit” Pineda (18-10) will be doing when he faces Scotland’s Robert Whiteford (10-2) at UFC 171.
Pineda is 3-3 in 6 UFC fights, but after starting his time with the promotion 2-0; “The Pit” is in the mist of a 1-3 stretch. The last time out Pineda suffered a unanimous decision loss to Diego Brandao.
Whiteford lost his pro debut by 1st round TKO and then went on a 10 fight winning streak, earning himself a UFC contract. Whiteford will now be looking to start a new win streak coming off a debut submission loss to Jimy Hettes.
UFC 171 takes place on March 15 at the American Airlines Arena in Dallas, Texas; headlined by “Ruthless” Robbie Lawler battling Johny “Bigg Rigg” Hendricks for the vacant UFC Welterweight tile.
