Bellator Locks Up Shelmenko

Bellator MMA and Middleweight champion Alexander “Storm” Shelmenko (49-7) have agreed on on a new deal that will keep the Russian fighter with the promotion for the foreseeable future.

Shelmenko is a two time tournament winner, having won the middleweight tournament in season 2 and 5. The “storm” has won 18 of 19 fights with 10 of the wins coming by (T)KO. Shelmenko currently is on a 12 fight winning streak and is coming off of a pair of successful title defenses over Brett Cooper (UD) and Doug Marshall (KO), during season 9 of Bellator MMA.

Shelmenko will be back in the Bellator cage, defending his title in the headlining bout of Bellator 114 against season 9 Middleweight tournament winner Brennan Ward.
