Abraham Perez Headlines the Resurrection April 19th
Less than six months after a near death experience Abraham “The Hammer” Perez return to the ring has been announced.
April 19th Embassy Suites just outside of downtown Albuquerque will host Legacy Boxing Promotions as they present The Resurrection.
In the main event someone’s O has got to go as the Duke City’s own, Abraham “The Hammer” Perez (10-0)faces Alejandro Murillo (6-0) from Juarez Mexico.
This past August Perez was scheduled to face fellow Albuquerque fighter Matthew Griego on the Top Ranked undercard for Lopez vs. Leo. In lead up tragedy struck when “Hammer” lost consciousness during a pool session. A person in lesser physical condition wouldn’t have survived the ordeal. The recovery is made even more miraculously by Perez getting back in the ring eight months later.
Perez was last in action in March of 2024 defeating Fernando Diaz by unanimous decision winning a WBC Youth Silver Flyweight title in the process.
Murillo won his first two professional bouts by second round knockout before going to the scorecards in his third fight with oved Reyes. In his fourth fight Murillo collected his third knockout win in the second round. The Mexican fighter was lasted in action in April of 2023 defeating Manuel Gonzalez Gabdara by fifth round TKO. The two year layoff from competition ends with a major step up in competition as Murillo’s previous six opponents had a combined 2-3 record at the time he face them.
