Chris Camozzi gets a New Challenger for BKFC 73

A BKFC debutant will get a chance to shock the world and change his life in his hometown.

A massive gash across the forehead of Lorenzo Hunt has forced the former two-division BKFC World Champion to withdraw from BKFC 73 where he was to rematch Chris Camozzi for the BKFC Cruiserweight title. A title Hunt never lost but vacated to chase after the Heavyweight title.

It was announced on The Bare Knuckle Show that Camozzi will still be making his first title defense of the BKFC Cruiserweight April 26th against Florence, Italy’s own Andrea “Italian Thunder” Bicchi.

It’s an opportunity of a lifetime. Founder and President of BKFC, David Feldman said “Andrea Bicchi is fighting in his hometown, so he has a lot to prove in front of his fans. He’s 4-1, his only loss was by split decision, he’s coming to fight and he’s coming to win. It’s a great local story for the Italian fans and should be a tremendous fight.”

Camozzi is 3-1 in BKFC with all three of his wins coming by first round knockout including at BKFC 67 when he captured the vacant championship stopping Sawyer Depee. Camozzi was hoping to avenge the lone loss on his BKFC record which came by split decision to Hunt at BKFC 50.

The narrative surrounding the fight changes greatly as Camozzi goes from revenge and the chance to cement his championship status to all the pressure of being a huge favorite facing a relative unknown with nothing to lose.
