ICS Mania No Longer Happening April 12th
There won’t be any Boxing at The PIT this weekend.
After days of speculation ICS Mania has been cancelled or postponed depending on which statement you read.
This past Saturday Quinten “Rampage” Jackson withdrew from the main event siting contractual obligations not being fulfilled.
Multiple sources told Caged Minds that Rampage & Evans had been guaranteed 1.5 Million for the fight which was to be paid in installments. Rampage’s frustrations initially coming from a missed payment.
On Monday Teresa Tapia held a press conference announcing the withdrawal of her husband Diego Sanchez, sons Nicco & Johnny Tapia Jr, and Josh “Pitbull” Torres.
Through the process Signature Punch remained firm that the event would go on. While Rashad Evans never made a solid statement of his intentions. Rumors swirled that Cody East, Keith Jardine, & Shannon Briggs has all been contacted about filling in against Evans.
Signature Punch said announcement about the new main event would come on Monday. That changed to Tuesday. On Tuesday evening statements a few different statements were released about the status of the event. One read “The Signature Punch Card set for April 12th, has been cancelled”.
Another stated “We regret to inform our fans and supporters the ICS MANIA 1 will be postponed to a later date. We are currently working closely with the New Mexico Athletic commission to finalize the new schedule and will provide updates as soon as possible”.
The fighters are the ones suffer in this situation. Hard camps, long days, hours away from their family’s for a payday and an opportunity that just vanished.
Tickets for ICS Mania will be automatically refunded.
