The UFC’s 1st trip to Brazil in 2015 will come on February 22nd, and is reportidley going to be headlined by former UFC Light Heavyweight champion “Suga” Rashad Evans (19-3-1) meeting Brazilian slugger Glover Teixeira (22-4). This news was first reported by Brazilian news outlet Globo.
Evans was sidelined by injury all of 2014 last competing and defeating Chael Sonnen at UFC 167 by 1st round TKO. For the TUF season 2 the TKO was his 7th of his career and his 2nd straight win after consecutive losses.
Teixeira won 20 fights in a row, which led to a date with Jon Jones at UFC 172 which ended in the same way as his most recent bout vs. Phil Davis ended in a unanimous decision loss. Teixeira will look to get back to he form that saw him finish 20 fights with 13 (T)KO and 6 submissions.
Also on the card is former MFC Middleweight champion Sam Alvey (24-6) vs. TUF Brazil Season 1 winner Cezar Ferreira (8-3). Alvey is coming off a 1st round KO of Dylan Andrews, while Ferreira is coming off a unanimous decision Andrew Craig.
Coming off a 6 fight win streak having been ended by a submission loss to Benson Henderson, Rustam Khabilov (17-2) will look to start his new winning streak against Adriano Martins (26-7) who has won 7 of 8 coming off a 1st round knock out of Juan Manuel Puig.
