Ruth – Amosov headlines Bellator 239
Bellator MMA is returning to the Sooner State in the later half of February with a welterweight bout between top prospects in the main event.
The main event of Bellator 239 will see three-time NCAA national champion in wrestling, Ed Ruth (8-1) against unbeaten Ukrainian, Yaroslav Amosov (22-0).
Bellator 239 is set for February 21st at the WinStar World Casino in Thackerville, Oklahoma.
“EZ” Ed Ruth won his first six fights before being submitted in the opening round of the Bellator world grand prix, by Neiman Gracie. Ruth has rebounded with a TKO of Kiichi Kumimoto at Bellator 224. And followed it up at Bellator 213 picking up his biggest win a split decision over Jason Jackson.
Yaroslav “Dynamo” Amosov has 18 of his victories by stoppage, 8 knockouts, & 10 submissions. The “Dynamo” is 3-0 inside the Bellator cage. The first two, decision victories over UFC vets Gerald Harris & Erick Silva. Amosov is coming off submitting David Rickles at Bellator 225.
The co-main event will be at lightweight pitting Brandon Girtz (16-8) against Myles “Fury” Jury (18-5). Girtz comes in off a decision win over Saad Awad at Bellator 219. Jury a UFC vet, lost a decision to Benson Henderson in his promotional debut at Bellator 227.
