UFC Rio Rancho gains trio of additions
The widely rumored main event is official and the card is growing with three new added to UFC Rio Rancho.
In a women’s bantamweight bout, former flyweight champion Nicco Montano will face TUF 28 winner Macy Chiasson. Montano the number 14 ranked contender in the division is a former King of the Cage champion, training out of Jackson’s Acoma. While Louisiana’s Chiasson is the number 12 ranked contender, who has relocated to Dallas to train with Fortis MMA.
In a women’s strawweight match-up number number 12 ranked Montana de la Rosa will face number 14 ranked Mara Romero Bortella. Rosa has won three of her last four fights, with all three coming by submission. Italy’s, Bortella is 2-2 in four trips into the octagon, including a submission win over Kalindra Faria at UFC 216.
In light heavyweight action Jacksonwink fighter Devin “Brown Bear” Clark takes on Russia’s, Gadzhimurad Antigulov. Clark a former RFA champion and powerful wrestler, has all four of his UFC wins by decision. In Sharpe contrast Antigulov won his first two UFC bouts by submission in under four minutes. Fortunes have changed quickly as Antigulov has lost his last two fights in just over five minutes.
UFC on ESPN+ 25 will be February 15th at the Santa Ana Star Center in Rio Rancho NM.
